Environmental Pollution Control

Water Pollution Control

Under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance, Hong Kong Waters is divided into several Water Control Zones. Industrialists and landlords are required that their effluents are properly treated before discharging into the Hong Kong Waters. Wastewater treatment systems are often complex and bulky, it is therefore essential to have a clear understanding of the requirements, their operation industries, detailed planning and obtain relative governmental licenses before operating treatment systems. AEC has been the pioneer in using stated-of-the-art chemical and biological techniques in the design of domestic and industrial wastewater treatment systems.

Air Pollution Control

Air sensitive receivers had been located very close to some highly polluting industries and main roads due to lack of land resources and historical reasons. Industrial and vehicle exhausts emissions are the major contributors to the deterioration of air quality. While the use of chimneys will continue to be an acceptable method of dispersing smoke and fume emissions, it is necessary to consider install air pollution control systems to reduce the amount of pollution emitted into the atmosphere and maintain sustainable development. AEC offers practical solutions to limit the contamination of the air through proper planning, design and application of reliable technologies.

  • Performance Testing of Pollution Control Equipment
  • Boilers, Furnaces and Chimneys Application

Waste Management and Disposal

In the past, industries have focused their attention on end-of-pipe treatment of effluents or emissions for compliance with environmental legislation. With increasing environmental awareness, industries realize prevention is always better than cure. The Waste Disposal Ordinance, first enacted in 1980, affects both the government and the public in disposal of toxic, clinical, hazardous and difficult waste and in the management of sludge arising from treatment systems. AEC focuses on waste reduction management, practical, improved and efficient methods for waste collection, management, storage, and treatment at source, monitoring, transportation and disposal. The company designs waste systems for volume reduction and treatment of waste by recycling industrial liquid, chemical and solid wastes.
